And what a glorious fall it’s starting out to be! Our apple trees are overloaded, the sunflowers in the garden are 10 feet tall, and the popcorn is ready to pick. A few highlights of the last couple of months:

Tuesday Lunches have been gaining in popularity lately and we’re now serving an average of 32 folks each week! Welcome to our new cook, Candie Dezotelle.  Lunch is served at noon every Tuesday. Suggested donation is $4 for anyone 60 or older, and $6 under 60. On October 3 we’ll enjoy the music of Dale and Darcy on guitar and fiddle after lunch. Join us if you’re in the neighborhood!

Food Shelf is going strong – serving around 150 folks a month. Open every Tuesday 3-5, and every 2nd Friday of the month from 10-noon. Thanks to our stellar volunteers who run the food shelf with such passion, efficiency and kindness. Stop by for some APPLES from our trees!

And don’t forget B-I-N-G-O! on Tuesday nights at 6:30. All are welcome!

We also welcome Nance Shaw as program director and and Becky Cassel as administrative director of operations at the Center. They’ll be working together to insure more “open” hours at the Center, and are planning some new programs and events for the coming year. They invite you to stop in and visit.
